Better team lost in the end. Very naive from Mbete to get himself sent off and then Lavia to give away a penalty when he had no chance of winning the ball.
 
That’s a shame. Pep better use the academy players tomorrow then. Would probably have progressed with them in the side today
 
I think we’d have won if we’d kept XI on the pitch. The EDS don’t half miss some good chances though, they make the first team look clinical!

A lack of consistency and an excitable temperament are the things he needs to work on.

As for the game,it sounds like we were unlucky and that progress is definitely being made in terms of development.
 
Yeah once Delap can sort out his composure in front of goal he’s going to be scoring for fun. His hold up play was also a lot better then it has been for the EDS recently. Even the commentators were talking about what a good test it was for the Tranmere defenders being up against someone of his quality.

McAtee was the best player on the pitch though, despite missing an absolute sitter early on. It can’t be too long until he starts training with the first team more often with the likes of Palmer and Doyle.

A shoutout to Lavia too who played really well as the holding midfielder. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets permanently moved up to the EDS this season.

It was a very promising performance though, considering how young the team was, the state of the pitch and that we played with 10 men for 35 minutes.

Lavia is a genuine talent,he is one that has been bought solely with our first team in mind and not the CFG nonsense.
 
There are brief highlights of the game on YouTube, they don’t show big chances we missed though.

Isn't deliberately sitting on your opponent a sending off offence BTW?

So our player gets sent off for reacting to an opponent who was deliberately holding him on the ground? Ycmiu.

The penalty also looked soft as shite.

Plastic they maybe,but it seems Tranmere have a large amount of Dippercuntishness about them.
