Eike Immel

The fact the media are choosing to describe him as only an ex Manchester City playe is telling. Only leaving it late in the piece to explain he spent 90% of his playing career in the fatherland.

If he'd have been given an award or something good we wouldn't have gotten a mention :)

They're a British paper. The majority of their traffic comes from Britain. Ergo, they'll choose the team most relevant to British readers.

Not at all, it's a constant incessant spotlight on anything bad reflecting on us.

In fact if he hadn't have played for us it wouldn't have made the news over here at all.

Well, yeah - because he never would have played for a British team so it wouldn't be relevant to a British audience. His name is only remembered in Britain because he played for City, which is why City get mentioned in the headline.

I literally work for a paper that shares the same building as the Mail and is owned by the same parent company. Trust me when I say that this headline has been made with only one thing in mind: Google's SEO rules.

Fortunately the media cover all foreign players who have played for all British teams to keep us appraised of their actions and whereabouts.

NOT ;-)

With Colin Hendry’s recent legal difficulties, the aforementioned Gaudino and Mark Ward, of “From the right wing to B wing” fame, we’ve got the makings of a half decent City Lags masters team
Didn’t Gary Owen and John Gidman both get done for insurance fraud/fiddles back in the day?
On the opposite side of the coin, former full back John Foster is now a copper, possibly even a GMP detective

There's Joey Barton, Mendy, Adam Johnson, Meppen-Walter, Kelvin Etuhu and Ched Evans (who went to prison but his conviction was later and rightly overturned).

Just googled and there's also former youth players Ryan McDowell & Max Norman who both went to prison.
