Elano committed to City

I hope that this is a sign that Hughes and Elano has put the past behind them, and have moved on for the good of the team.

I think there has been a few indications over the past month that the relationship has thawed somewhat. Very pleased if that is the case.

I think that's a really good point - his face and his body language in the past have given the impression that he is unhappy.

Hopefully with todays statement of intent - short but sweet that it is - he has turned a corner and we will see a happier looking Elano from now on.

See Micah's team mate thread where he says Elano's the biggest moaner/whinger...

He's going nowhere and hopefully now's his chance to stake a more permanent claim for a regular place...?

Really hope he stays and finds the form of early last season.
But... he's hardly likely to say otherwise and fork out another 40 grand !!

I realise everyone on here is sceptical about supposed "ITK" stories and all that, so I understand if people doubt my story (after all I stated that neither Elano nor Ben Haim would ever play for the club again at the start of December - one out of two isn't bad, but isn't good either).

Anyway, that was told to me from a first team player who knows more than most. Last time I spoke to him about it was admittedly a few weeks ago and he said that there was a definite thawing in the relationship between Hughes and Elano (essentially Hughes prevailed) but Elano felt he was going to leave.

Elano had conceded he was in the wrong and wanted to say, but felt he'd fucked up his chances. He's now pretty devoted to the cause (hence the recent press interviews) and is getting on much better with MH, but feels his future hangs in the balance. I think if he performs then he's safe, and he has noticeably upped his workrate (which was Hughes' gripe with him) so we'll see.

Interesting... Certainly backs up recent observations.

Let's hope so as Elano has a place in most people's hearts and if his and Robi's performances on Tuesday night are anything to go by, the training regime is working wonders for them...

SURELY Elano will get the nod over Deadly Darius on Saturday, but we'll see eh?

If Vassell gets the nod over Elano on Saturday then I despair. I'm a Hughes moderate, but that will test my patience to the fore.

I can see him starting Saturday he is a natural choice for atleast the next 3 games! If he doesn't start I'll be pissed because I don't see a better replacement for right wing than Elano.
