Elano, Vassel or Caicedo

If Zab is not going to be used as the second DM, then he will be moved out to RM. However, I think he WILL be used as #2 DM with De Jong and Ireland will slide out right with Elano moving into CM position.

IF we go a goal down, we shift PZ up the line, bring SI inside with Elano, with each of the midfielders playing off Bellamy, depending on where Bellamy picks up the ball along the front line. Caieido ONLY comes on for PZ or Elano if we get into the last 15 mins a goal down.

Personally, I think MH will set out his stall fairly defensively and try to win on the break. He HAS TO STOP THE ROT AWAY FROM HOME and I think he will take a point with the hope of nicking all three. ALOT depends if Pompey or City show up, because BOTH TEAMS can go missing (and have) for long periods of the season.

Ireland out to the right and Elano in the middle. When Ireland played on the right against West Ham earlier in the season he was superb and so was Elano in the same game when played in the middle so worth giving it another go

Yeah but at the time West Ham were in turmoil. Elano, Ireland and Charlie (bring him back) all played blinders that day though.

Wouldn't say they were in turmoil it was only the second game of the season. Both Ireland and Elano played well so therefore should be given another chance in those roles IMO
 
I would try sticking Bellamy on the right wing perhaps. Or Robinho on the right wing and Bellamy on the left.

I went for Weiss on the matchday forum but if like a lot have you have said he isn't ready yet then I think it has to be Bellamy. Hughes tried this out for the last 10 mins against Boro and it looked ok plus he scored his goal coming in from that side. Ireland must never play on the right again, he played their last season and he was shite and the majority of us including myself wanted him out, his position is definitely in the middle where he has been class. I don't have to explain my reasons for not playing Vassell. So Bellamy on the right and either Caicedo or someone else up front for me.
