cant blame any one player for the result.
thought elano wasnt too bad, he worked back hard a few times and made a crutial tackle after our corner got cleared in the 2nd half.

our problem was lack of genuine width, a fit martin petrov and swp is the answer...

that and a decent centre forward - Caicedo did not have one of his better games today.

any half decent forward can score goals with decent quantity and quality of balls whipped into the box. wasnt easy for big phil when every time he got the ball he was back to goal with vidic hanging off him

It wasn't a game for Elano, the way to beat them is to run at them down the wings. We needed SWP today, and I'm sure he'd have started if he was fit.

I'm probably Elanos biggest critic, but to be fair not many successful teams have their playmaker out wide. I wish we could find a place for him more centrally, but DeJong and Vinny already seem to be falling over each other in the middle.
Wonder if Bremen would consider a swap deal for Diego?
