what does he mean by 1 more year at Porto? that there is no deal or we buy him for 30m and loan him back?

Would make sense with DM's age but I think FFP prevents us from signing both ....

And in regards to previous posts about Dzeko, I don't think he's a 30m striker no. In my eyes, 30m gets you world class. He's nowhere near that. Yes, he bags but then again, I would if I had as many chances as him but... But...... Fair play, end of last year he came good!

Played as a striker for his youth team before moving to Liege and got converted to a LB, finally moving to CB in 2008. I think we might see a few more goals from corners. He looks like a beast at headers.

Well if this is true I'm v pleased. I'll admit to not seeing much of either Mangala or Benetia and would have been happy with either but for me, Benatia's age and fact he'd be going to ACON go against him. People seem to be jumping on some supposed Mangala quotes about Chelsea and the fact he didn't get in France team ahead of Sakho and are using that to have a go. Well however much I love Manchester (I'm Manc through and through) the fact is London is still a big pull for players (it's the reason Sanchez chose Arsenal over Liverpool IMO, nothing to do with the club itself)and re France - well this is a manager who didn't take Nasri in the squad and we all know how good he was last season).

So while 30 mill is a lot, when you consider Luiz cost 50, and Shaw 30 then it's just the current market value. I hate to use thm lot as an example but you look at when they signed Ferdinand for whatever it was (25 mill?) and that ended up being excellent value. Hopefully this will be the same. Any signing can backfire but hopefully we're signing someone who can be the heart of the defence with Vinnie for many years to come. He should learn from Vinnie and MDM And I just hope he doesn't turn into a scapegoat if he takes a bit of time to settle.
