Re: Eliaquim Mangala

I'm pretty sure many saw Fernandinho's arrival as slightly underwhelming, but he's turned out to be a great buy for us (based on his first season).
Zas and Kompany were hardly earth shattering buys at the time... but we'd not swap them for the earth now.
We've brought in marquee signing in the past, and a fair few didn't work out.

I am completely underwhelmed by our transfers so far, it is looking a lot like those prior to Mancini's last season.

You think a well-planned summer of early, carefully-targeted signings is similar to the last day blitz of arbitrary signings that preceded Bobby's last season?

That made me laugh

Well, we don't need to sign any more players. First of all our squad is very satisfying at the moment, and maybe it is also time to actually keep our current players instead of constantly selling and buying new players, I definitely think now could be the time to do that. Btw, if we get Mangala, the team will probably be the best we've ever had.

Cap is for summer only, city are clear on that. We probably wont do much in Jan anyway. These sanctions will be lifted next year UEFA no city wont put up with being messed about again.

Read the Settlement Document released by UEFA and agreed to by City. Ignore the spin put on it by the club.
The restrictions are for 2 full seasons. What the limits are for the other 3 windows nobody knows. The club are not
fighting this. Dupont is fighting FFP and the court case is heard next Spring. If he wins, as I expect, then FFP is dead.
If he loses the restrictions will remain in place for 2015-16. It's been discussed at length on the FFP thread.
2 full seasons is only if we don't meet their requirements, same as the €60m fine is only that if we don't meet it

I think you should trust Pellegrini on his dealings last summer, didn't do to bad a job there did he?!
Our obvious weaknesses at CB look like being addressed, and additional support in midfield for Fernandinho and Yaya with Fernando coming in.
Why upset the balance of a great side with a marquee signing?
