I'd ask Indykaila for an update before the MEN !

Mate......I think we're all starting to question if this is going to happen.....I know we've heard its done deal....but I've got to that point where its not done until Porto/City make it official....this is truly the longest medical I've ever seen.....Porto "have" to announce it to their stock market when the deal is done and no reason for City not to make it official if it had....so there must be a problem somewhere. I do think it could still happen but this whole transfer is getting stranger by the day....

I agree we know he had a medical and that he is now on holiday, but whats really stopping us to announce it? 3rd party can't of took that long...

Re: Eliaquim Mangala

I don't believe we would allow the fallback option Benatia to be lost if we weren't 100% sure Mangala was done.

I'm not arsed either way,our team is class. If we don't sign him, someone else that is class will come in.

Re: Eliaquim Mangala

Just might be we are edging our bets on who we might buy 30m is a big chunk of our budget.. I think we have a lot of balls in the air, might be we may well be looking at Barkley and not going through with the Mangala purchase just yet still gives us options

Re: Eliaquim Mangala

Well if reports on here are true and I for one believe them, we will be conducting an unusual transfer, the lad has been to Manchester and had his medical, he is currently on his holiday and not due back till 4th August, apparantly looking at houses but we aren't going to go through with the deal because other options have come up. I put it down to the same reasons as Fernando and Porto and 3rd party, flew him over because deal imminent couldn't resolve them and he went back to Brazil and a week or so later he was signed. I will start to flap a bit if by Community Shield game he hasn't signed but not before.

I'm not questioning anything. It's done.

Save your flapping for the Isco thread.

City won't compromise on Mangala

Any move to bring the French defender to City are still a way off, and there are some defenders already in the Blues squad hoping to step up.

Manchester City are still playing a waiting game with Eliaquim Mangala.

The Blues pursuit of the 23-year-old Porto defender has been going on all year, but the club are not expecting to make an announcement soon unless there is unexpected movement in the deal.

Pellegrini's squad adjustments are not finished and he said in Kansas: "We will decide if we need another [player] or not. That’s very important for us in these friendly matches."

Two candidates for the centre-back role are Matija Nastasic and Karim Rekik, who both took part in Tuesday's open training session.

If Mangala does eventually arrive as expected, one of those two could find themselves surplus to requirements.
