Elliot Anderson | Opening bid rejected (p189)

Ornstein saying forest want a pl record fee if they sell him, in which case he can stay at forest hes not even close to a 100m plus player even in this market
Probably just a negotiation tactic they are floating to the media. He will likely be sold and at a number well south of 100

Same as what happened with MGW.

Fat wanker getting greedy again.

Hopefully doesn’t stop the deal happening. Remember they wanted Rico and he’s hardly played this season so could be used to go the other way but I hope not. He’s a brilliant squad player if happy to stay.

I presume there's some sort of release clause in there somewhere, especially if they go down. Or maybe for a Champions League side. Nobody really knows aside from the fat wanker in charge at their place who also supposedly actively tried hiding MGW's release clause last Summer.

If they don't go down and there's no RC then he'll cost a fortune and I bet he'll be a nightmare to negotiate with as a result. However, judging by his movements since he replaced Txiki, if Viana wants somebody then he'll get them.

Would be interesting to see him in this situation to be fair because it's the sort of deal Txiki would walk away from if the numbers took the piss and got it right a lot of the time (Sanchez, Fred, Maguire, Jorginho and probably more we don't even know about) - can only really think of VVD where we should've taken the plunge.

I wouldn't mind them going down because their fans do my nut in and it'd automatically make him cheaper. However, it would mean Spurs likely stay up and we would struggle (even more) to offload certain players from our squad in the deal because they'd be dropping down a division.

I'm still adamant the Ortega deal was some sort of sweetener. Not to reduce the fee or anything like that. But maybe to make sure negotiations aren't like pulling teeth.

I presume there's good relations between the clubs regardless because of the Ortega deal and also the McAtee one. And the fact we were apparently willing to listen to their offer for Rico last Summer until he said no. Which may ironically prove useful this Summer in the Anderson deal.

I was told there was a champions league club release clause of £75m

Would not believe a word Ornstein says a London based guy who as much as he tries to deny it very much a pro gunner. Forest have a decent relationship with CIty and until I hear a direct quote from Maranakis no one knows the figure we are after. Also he is an owner like yours who has done a great deal for the city and has had the balls to call out decisions been given to cartel clubs.

I've watched this lad a few times this season and I don't get the desperation to sign him. Decent player, stands out in a poor team, nothing special. If he signs for us, fine, if not, also fine.

When they say they want a record fee, that's presumably around £120m considering caicedo went for £115m.

A laughable figure. Not even worth half that. If Viana cannot get a deal signed and done well before the world cup, we have got to move on. Simply can't have our most important transfer in years drag on into the late summer post world cup and let that mentalist owner take the piss. A take it or leave it offer on the table, no games and if it's anything other than a yes we move on, he's not even close to a generational talent worth paying whatever it takes for, he's not even a Rice who you can justify stumping up the cash for.

If we were contemplating spending in excess of £100m on a midfielder, go and tempt PSG with a monstrous offer for Neves. I'd even sooner offer Chelsea most of their money back for Caicedo if they miss out on CL and have to sell players.
