I recall that the MGW deal had some twists and turns, especially with the release clause becoming public after Spurs made their bid.

Yes we all believed he was going to you, then City seemed to drop him and go elsewhere. Then we sold Elanga instead. MGW is a Man United fan FWIW.

If we go down it’ll be interesting what the fee is. I can see Marinakis taking another points deduction rather than letting our players go too cheap. We’re much better at selling (£55m for Elanga; £45m for
Brennan Johnson) than buying.

If Anderson signs for United in the summer people will change their mind on that celebration. If the deal was already done with us as it has been suggested you would think he may have been a little less joyful given the importance of the goal for our title challenge
