Most of our targets are about to going to World Cups. If we are going for non World Cup players yeah you go and get them done and dusted now. Also I think we want the issue with the manager resolved. As in get him in the building so he's there when they sign. No doubt some players be thinking twice with the manager not confirmed yet. Will some be put off City without Pep too that's the issue we never had with Pep as most players wanted to play in his team.
You're overthinking it. Of all the clubs in the Prem, who are you going to want to play for now? City now have immense pulling power, it's not just about the manager. When do you ever see a player who has anything but good things to say about us? Yes, you'll find a few if you look hard enough but few ever want to leave unless they can't get in the team regularly, but that's the same at any club.

Who else are they going to want to play for? Carrick? Arsenal aren't going to move on playing the style of football they play. Every other top club is changing their manager.

Apart from that, those handling player transfers will already be assuring players who the manager will be, they won't be looking at it as an unresolved situation. It's probably all done and dusted anyway, just a matter of formalising the contracts before they can announce it. There's no rush.

If we sign him before the World Cup and he gets injured or seriously injured during the World Cup, we’re fucked. Are you City going to take that risk, or are they going wait and sign him after the World Cup, and he’s not injured, and have to pay a higher price?
That could happen with any player at any time though.

I wonder if we're planning to get it sorted and announce him at the same time as Maresca.

It might make the press conferences a little less about Pep...

Is he getting 300k/ weekly too?
Probably somewhere near it.

Guehi we got cheap but reports have since said he’s not on 300.

Grealish came in as a big transfer and was on 300 but Villa famously offered him 350 to stay.

Marmoush is on 275 apparently and Reijnders 230. So would expect him to get paid well.

As much as I hate Real Madrid, I think you're absolutely spot on about their pulling power. I'm struggling to think of a player we've genuinely missed out since Pogba & Ssnchez. You could probably say Wirtz but supposedly he was worried about how long Pep would be around. Since Wirtz signed for the dippers, it's ironic Slot only stayed a couple of days more than Pep
Olise and Kane have both recently told Real no, gracias. Who is dying to play for the finished one?

No way we pay that and rightly so, also id imagine negotiating with the psychotic greek would be very difficult

Personally, I’d pay up. Sometimes a player is that good and not only that, he’s in a position we’re absolutely desperate to improve and is the exact profile that we’ve been chasing for a few years (Rice etc).
