Elliot Anderson | Opening bid rejected (p189)

Not a bad player but not really the standard we require. Wharton is 10x better.
Anderson is a better fit what what we need. In midfield we lack duel-winning, we lack energy, we lack a bit of physicality. Anderson offers all that whilst also being very good technically, able to carry the ball or play quick, incisive forward passes, has a decent shot on him too. I like both players but Anderson is perfect for what we’re missing.

Haven’t seen this comparison but he’s basically an English version of Kante. Most duels won , highest pressing midfielder , does not stop running etc
Unlike Kante he can actually pass though.

I honestly think he is just a bigger version of Bernardo without the ability to play out wide. He is the perfect replacement

Having seen them both play instead of just reading a stat sheet, I'd say they are completely different players.

People talking about Anderson, Wharton and Scott like they are all world beaters, its a surprise england dont win the world cup handy given they have Rice the best player in the prem according to some people too with this world class midfield(despite half of them not even in the squad, imagine how good the others are…)

Reality is the first three have proven nothing yet in their career and between them have zero champions league appearances, 1 fa cup and conference medal and nothing else. All of them are risks esp when it comes to playing big games. Anderson for an English transfer record is mental, has he even ever been in a team of the year? 80m tops and even that is generous.

So relations are excellent yet we are to believe we put in an official bid that was rejected? Don't buy it for a second. More sensationalised bullshit to create stories.

if relations are excellent we would be able to have informal conversations on the price, we wouldn't need to be sticking in official first offers that we know will be rejected and wasting everybody's time. The media are going to create this back and forth of us putting in slightly adjusted bids for weeks that are rejected when I strongly suspect absolutely none of it will be true. We'll have a talk, haggle a bit on the price without doing this official bid crap, get favourable payment plans and be done.

Thankfully, the background work and analysis on new signings are more about their projected impact, how they improve our team based on their profile and what we currently lack. Not team of the year appearances or how many trophies they have won at their young age.

He really isn’t. Hence why one is at the World Cup and the other isn’t.

Anderson is bigger, more physical, less injury prone and quicker.

I really rate Wharton but Anderson is the better player imo. I think a few are going to pleasantly surprised just how good Anderson is. He is a joke

Yes one of the most ridiculous posts on here for . . . a few hours

The British transfer record is going to get smashed here, Forest if they have any sense will try to rinse us and to some degree we should allow them their pound of flesh if this is the player we need/want.

Smashed? Isak was 125m Marikas wants 120m I reckon it be around 105/110m
