Elliot Anderson

As much as I don’t think Forest will go down it’s highly unlikely the fat Greek would sanction a sale in January when they are one spot above relegation zone, he’d want £150mil or something completely and utterly ridiculous which we just can’t afford to pay.

Not a chance £10 million more would do it, and £10 million more than what. He isn’t moving in January, let it go.
Money talks.

Wealth whispers.

They are in a relegation scrap with a thin squad & their scorer out for weeks.

We have several players to trade, sell or loan.

Man has walked on the moon,so everything is possible until its not !!

I don’t think he’s as positionally indisciplined as Gerrard. He was a brilliant footballer but a major reason why Liverpool didn’t win the league when he was there. Constantly going missing as a centre midfielder chasing the ball but not clever enough to play as a ten. He had a brilliant shot and an excellent passer and crosser but never really made any position his own.
Sorry mate but that’s one of the most bizarre takes I’ve ever read. Gerrard was a fucking unbelievable CM. For me, the second best CM the PL has seen with only Kev being better.

The dips never won the PL because the rest of their side was wank.

Energy , high work rate , calm under pressure complete package. This comparison hasn’t been made yet but watching how he covered everywhere against us.

He reminded me of Kante, aggressive in a tackle won his duels and was everywhere. Exactly what we need in midfield.

With these new Pep Lijnders / Pep Tactics. That leaves the midfield exposed. It’s why I’m guessing we are going for Anderson over Wharton. Anderson has bundles of energy and a high work rate.

I hope Hugo stayed behind to talk numbers

Can’t see him going in Jan because of their league position, although they should’ve safe you never know.

Think it’s been hinted if we want him it will be in the summer. Hopefully if there has been that talk between clubs and player it goes better than the MGW chat.

He’s just the kind of player we need, perfect accompaniment to either of Rodders or Nico G.

I think Yaya was a better central midfielder than Slippery G.

Yaya, Lampard, Vieira, Keane all streets ahead of him. I would have Fernandinho aahead of him as well. He has everything bar an ability to hold his position. Very similar player to Pogba.

There was a reason England couldn’t fit Lampard and Gerrard in the same team.

You are right. He was a great player that needed to drift around and always struggled when locked down with responsibility in a positional sense. He later became an awful defensive midfielder under Rodgers that kept himself relevant because of his long range shooting and set-pieces. He was helped a bit during the mid-noughties because the Prem had this weird thing about bypassing midfields. His absolute best football came as a 10 behind Torres and Suarez. He would have benefitted greatly if more of his peak would have been part of the three man midfields that didn't really slowly start to happen in England until Mourinho and Benitez though

Anderson is a bit off Gerrard in terms of raw ability to just win games on his own due to his talent at striking the ball or driving forward with the ball, but there is enough of it to make him a very interesting prospect. Add that to his positional awareness and workrate that suits the modern game and he could be very, very good for us.

De Bruyne is still king though, because he was everything Gerrard was while also succeeding in the things he lacked.
