I'd hope that one of the reasons we moved on from Gibbs-White is realising that his teammate is far better.

It was very much the latter. He’s being hyped up over here at present, based on two England performances.

He’ll be available for £40m next summer when Angeball has destroyed him.

The sad part is that neck deep in English football as we all are, it was a perfect delivery, because we spunk over every English player who can put in a tackle or play a pass, then double any potential fee!

You may have been joking with the price, but considering what Forest wanted for Gibbs-White it might not be far off!

Would hope more like £60m. He was also excellent against Serbia - he looks so much tidier in possession than Declan Rice, and so much more suited to our midfield than many I see out there. In all honesty though, Nico Gonzalez is probably our most similar player so may feel we don't have a need for him.

If Nico can become more physical and get up to pace with the Prem then we might have a player in there but he has work to do

Think he will return to Newcastle.
He is a local lad, perhaps Newcastle have a buy-back clause ?

He would, true. Though I'd also say if you wanted someone to play as he does then he's better than any of them at it. If he could force his way into the team he'd probably stay in it.

Every time I see him he just sweeps up, wins the ball and uses it well. I'd be surprised if he's still at Forest after the World Cup.

Agree, Newcastle's current midfield 3 are excellent.
But, none of them are spring chickens, so injuries take longer to recover.
Also, all 3 get plenty of bookings, so suspensions are inevitable.
Tonali will return to Italy in my opinion before long, so a place for Anderson will arise...
 
When average players like that get to cost that amount it's time to...

I’m not sure Tonali will go back to Italy, unless he’s homesick. He’s got his pick of clubs should he ever want a move.

Similar with Anderson. Is he a Shearer type or a Nasri type? Adulation of your home town fans vs wanting to be a serial winner of trophies.
