I suspect it is the CEO and not the Chairman saying sorry because the CEO was recommending it and Khaldoon employs people like him to evaluate football related situations. Soriano fucked up, so Soriano apologises. IMHO this is the interesting bit as i think it tries to explain the position we were in:-

To be honest, couldn’t care less about an apology as we all know it’s totally hollow words. By all means give us an honest explanation of where they think they are taking the club, otherwise keep quiet and crack on with keeping us at the top.
