Signed for us on a trial basis and kept us up with two crucial goals at St. James' Park and the Riverside in 2007.

Retired in 2014. Was last in the news for suing Paul Sturrock over claims he missed training while at Plymouth because he'd taken Viagra.

Still remember this headed goal vividly, as I was walking back to my seat just as the cross went in — big bloke (and I am 1.86m tall) already on the steps nearly threw me in to the far row when he jumped up to celebrate.

Can only echo this. I always look back at that season and say to myself that we were lucky not have gone down as we looked so dire at times. Was smashed at pretty much every game that season.

His cult status in my eyes is heavily influenced by his Championship Manager performances for me, long before he came to the club.

I was absolutely buzzing when he signed, and he kept us up. Didn't quite work out for him when Sven came in though.
