Emiliano Sala - Cardiff suing Nantes for £100m (P 49)

It’s the first instalment as agreed by both clubs at the transfer agreement.

May be more to come when due.

right or wrong ???

Cardiff City have been told to pay the first instalment of 6m euros (£5.3m) to Nantes for £15m striker Emiliano Sala.

am not 100% how the deals work in a transfer or insurance but this should have been sorted out without the media fighting and agents wanting blood money

Yes the 6m was just whats already due, can't see them having to pay the first instalment and not the rest. Hopefully Nantes take legal action against them as well for depriving them of a transfer budget for 2 windows.

It's absolutely awful what happened, but they should obviously have to pay the agreed upon fee in my opinion. It feels really crass to even discuss this but thats what contracts are for unfortunately. Hopefully they are insured.

Did they ever find the pilots body?

To me he’s sat on a beach somewhere very remote (still alive) with a nice big pot of cash to never be seen again, that’s my conspiracy theory anyway. Having a tiny bit of knowledge of flying there’s just no way anyone of sound judgement would have flown that plane that evening with the conditions unless there was an ulterior motive. It doesn’t make sense and when there’s other suspicious stuff surrounding it, it makes it even more dodgy.

Very likely the reason Cardiff have been attempting to avoid paying the transfer price is because they never got round to adding his name to the insurance cover. That could be because they were a bit tardy in doing it or had genuinely some contract issues to resolve and were not 100% sure that the contract was valid.

Times reporting they will have to pay the full fee in instalments as agreed at the time.

Bastards still going to appeal though.

Knowing what insurance companies are like, surely they will have had some small print about travelling on air-worthy planes?
