A genuine hero, RIP and many thanks.

I was listening to an interview he did from the early 2000’s. A truly humble gentleman if ever there was one. God bless you, kind Sir.

It was a sad day on Monday when his family, friends and the people of the free world say goodbye to this last brave hero who together with his comrades fought and kept the UK free from invasion. Thank you Sir Rest in Peace.

I saw a news programme about him when he was 100 and he was very lucid.
Imagine in those times leaving Ireland at 18 and 2 years later flying Hurricanes.
I don't know if there is a book about him and his exploits but it would be some read.

This guy would get in his plane, go dogfighting, get shot down, go back, climb into a new plane and do it again.
And again.
And again.
He was an absolute hero.

He enjoyed it.

Built different back then,

Rip.

He was shot down four times. Once his parachute did not open and he was saved by it tangling in a tall tree which arrested his fall.
RIP Sir, you are a true hero.
