End of season parade in Manchester?

Perhaps I am on my own but I wouldn't mind at all seeing Alex Ferguson, and even Red Nev. I am happy to share Manchester with everyone for one day at the end of the season but more than anything we need to see the Premier League trophy from an open top bus at the end of the season. And if that happens after this season, surely it takes on more meaning than usual?

It would for me. A lot of City fans have died this season. A lot of Mancunians too. I think the end of this season needs marking. And we need a statement for the future. Maybe an event to draw the line under this year.

It's nearly the end of April. If we are going to do this, we have to make it clear it's happening.

We need a statement from the club that if City win the league title, Manchester City Council and MCFC will organise a bus-top parade in Manchester for the City of Manchester.

Can we all agree in that?
Lets invite Lionel Messi to help us celebrate, but tell him quickly, it's a long walk from Barcelona !

OK. How about this then. Last home game of the season....with maybe 10k in the ground. All the other City fans come into Manchester?

Marvin sing Manchester ? We are the only Manchester club so by singing City it's the same.
I don't understand you point of getting a club from Trafford to be involved in our City.
I hate utd with all my heart, I hate they were allowed to use our City's name. I hate everything thing about utd.
Utd seem so desperate to be a Manchester club we shouldnt be encouraging that. I have a hard enough time living down here explaining to utd fans that they arent in Manchester. I even have a screenshot of the map of Manchester on my phone to show them and they still believe they are in Manchester.
It's a hard fight down here to prove utd arent a Manchester club the last thing City should be doing is joining force with them

We are Manchester the only Manchester club we dont need to invite an impostor to any of our parties !

What a great idea!

This might be a complete barmpot of an idea but do you think it would be a nice thing for Manchester CIty and Manchester Utd players and staff and CIty and Utd fans to come together in the CIty somewhere to thank each other for sustaining us all through this long dark year? It would a statement for the CIty of Manchester that we value our football and that we have more in common with each other than we have against each other, and a statement of hope for the future. We are after all often members of the same football family and often the same families and each of us may indeed have something to celebrate at the end of this season.

I also feel grateful to my football team for giving me positive energy over the last year. Manchester has had a bad time like we all have but in the height of Summer with most people vaccinated, and the worst of Covid behind us hopefully, wouldn't it be nice to come together?

We could also at the same time pay respect to the friends we have lost, and all the workers who have helped us. I think we need something like this.

If not together, we do it as Manchester City with Manchester. I think it would be safe now? Thoughts? Could this be done? Is it important for you?
I love your sense of humour Marvin.
But just in case this is a serious post, if I were you, I’d be visiting the medication cabinet and checking if I’d had my tablets today!

It is a shame that football fans of different clubs, can’t gather together without it turning into a MMA free for all, last fan standing event.

Christ.

Last time we came together with them was for the victims of bombing.

Only to see their players singing anti City songs a day later. Never forget what utter dirtbags they were. Lingard showed himself as a small time **** that day.

And if you wish to forget that, just remember they and their cartel put a gun to our head LAST WEEK.
This has been a special year. And a special season.

It needs marking. And it needs marking in a more inclusive way for all Mancunians and City fans.

Does no one but me have the desire to do that?

If we stay silent. This season will end in a moment. I want a collective memory so that when I think of 2020/2021 I can think of seeing and sharing a trophy with City fans rather than watching on TV. And it would make me look forward to the next season too.

If we don't stress the importance of doing this. It will not happen.

Well I started off with the idea of a end of season trophy parade and momentarily I had a daft sentimental idea but it;s clear to me that we are not going to have such an event unless we push for it. And it would be important to me.

Forget the Man Utd bit then. End of season. 200k City in Manchester. Yes or no?

yep , i'd go.

I'm struggling with this post. The OP posts some mental suggestion about coming together in a 'we are the world' moment for a Covid superspreader event, when we can't even get into the ground. Takes valid sh1t over it and still comes back with more suggestions instead of admitting they had some sort of brain episode and retreating with tail between legs.

Stick to weather forecasting mate!

you do know what happens when rival fans have had a few beers though don’t you

That’s a much better idea. If we win the Champions League, nobody will be able to stop the gathering that’ll take place. Can you imagine when the players step off the plane that brings them home, the fans will be there to greet them. The streets the bus travels back to the Etihad down will be lined with fans, and not forgetting how mad it’ll be outside the stadium it’s self!

The last game of the season is Sunday 23rd May. Everton 4pm.

The Champions League FInal is Saturday 29th May. Let's wait to see how far we get.

But whatever I hope City fans make a homecoming / celebration happen. I'm not sure MCFC/MCC will do this unless we push for this. If you object, or you are not interested, worried about Covid etc, please also say so.

Then at the end we can say this is what we want. And if it's overwhelminhly popular we just announce it's happening and do it unofficially. Blue Sunday. You set the date and time. I would like City to do it and bring players, Pep and trophy.
