Enes Unal

.

Everybody wants Aleix Sanchez, and to a degree I understand because he is world class player who can score goals and get assists, but I just don't see him as necessary; B Silva, Roberts and say Sancho (with cameo time) could surely give Sterling and Sane the appropriate rotation necessary throughout the season.

This I can agree on as well, he is a quality player but he is approaching 30 and Arsenal will try and screw us for a shit load of cash and at the end of the day we have attacking mids coming out of our ears lol

Cheers for a decent conversation about it btw :)

I think this season in particular though, the squad was definitely bigger than Pep would have liked. You can tell he has respect for the older players in the sense that he feels compelled to give them minutes over youth because their careers are winding down. Like Fernando is not a player for us in the future, that seems clear to me, all the minutes he got SHOULD have been given to Garcia, but Pep probably didn't want to mistreat him.

I think next season will be a big indicator in that regard, I don't think Garcia should be loaned out, a DM being loaned out doens't make as much sense because his game is completely around the technical side and link up with his teammates, whereas Enes NEEDS to play constantly do develop as a striker.

If Delph and Fernando leave, I can imagine all the hypothetical minutes they'd get next season would go to Garcia, so if Garcia can get atleast 900 minutes next season (an average of 10 full games) by playing full games or as a substitute then that'd be an improvement.

I can also see somebody like Sancho getting a few minutes, but more as cameos, to give Sane some rest, and I HOPE Roberts does come in and make it.

That's where the problem comes in imo.

Sanchez if available, is such an easy signing. He'll get so many goals & assists, so 'let's get him' because we can.
If it wasn t possible to get him then the plan you mention might actually work out almost as well, that we find we didn't really need him & we are good enough anyway.

But if he's available we will probably just get him & then we don't have to think about the rest.

Effectively means we have no intention of finding out his potential in our PL team but just in case.......
Seems this will be the max that any young player we sign can expect unless other teams have proved them at a high level.

Slightly unfair, he can't get a work permit as it stands, so we have no option of finding out currently. This is a win win, not sure why some are unhappy. Never going to get enough game time with Aguero and Jesus here, absolute no brainer!

Sign for 2m, sell for 12m, buyback for 17.5m

If we end up buying him back it will mean we will have signed a top young ST with years of first team football experience for £7.5m. If we don't we will have made a 10m profit on someone who has never played for us.
I rate him highly so slightly sad to see him go but you can't complain with that, plus it gives us more wriggle room for signings this summer.

Brilliant deal. I believe we have the buyback option until 2020. If he flops (unlikely) we still make 10m profit. If goes one to a be 20+ goal striker in La Liga, we can potentially bring him back at an absolute bargain price or if he doesn't fit our squad, we can buy him back for 17.5m and potentially sell him for 40m+. Love buy back deals, we should be including them in all of our sales of youngsters.

Enes is guaranteed to get a lot of game time for Villarreal. Their top scorer Cedric Bakambu scored 11 goals this season. Some other numbers in La Liga this season. Griezmann (16), Morata (15), Neymar (13), Gamerio (12), Benzema (11), Torres (8).

I think Enes Unal can easily get 12-15 goals for them next season which would be an amazing start. The type of goals that he scores are IMO fairly easy to translate to another league. Really think he will do well there.

We can't "find out his potential in the our PL team" as he can't get a work permit.

Thank you, I've seen so many comments laced with ignorance about his situation. He literally can't play in England and he's at a crucial stage in his development where a permanent move is best. He's had good loans moving up tiers in Holland and now he's got to go to a top 5 league but more importantly he needs stability. In signing a 4 year deal with Villarreal, he knows were he's gonna play for the foreseeable future, the manager obviously rates him and wants to work with him, and he's an asset for them (as opposed to the another loan player) which I think will force Villarreal to care about his development & play him. All of that will aid in his development.

For City we've made a profit on him already, despite the fact he's never kick a ball for us. If he impresses in La Liga and develops into the stiker we think he can be, his buy back fee (20m) is nothing for City. He'll come back to play for us (he should be eligible for a work permit by 2020) or we'll make more money by selling him 40m+ (ie Morata). THIS IS GREAT BUSINESS GUYS AND GIRLS!

Some buys are for the now and not developmental. If this guy can help up across the line next season then it won't really matter what we pay the Gooners or that he is nearly 30.

He does not have enough pace to make it at the very top in my opinion - good business.
