Why would a selfish winger who doesn't track back such as Sturridge get in the team ahead of someone like Lennon or Walcott who ARE going to track back and would work better with a fullback?
There's a reason Sturridge isn't starting a lot for Chelsea now and it's because Di Matteo has some sense unlike AVB and is playing Kalou who is fucking shit for the most part but still helps defensively.

Shorter tournament, more and closer rivalries, and all climatised to European weather conditions. There are no Trinidads, no Iraqs, no New Zealands, just (largely) 16 quality sides, most of whom cannot fucking stand each other. Great spectacle but we have fucking no chance.
We beat Sweden and Spain not long ago with there full teams played, We narrowly lost to Holland playing a fuck knows what weird Pearce side. Italy are shit, Ukraine are only in it because they are hosting the thing and France well i dont know they blow hot and cold.
Fuck knows what you have been watching lately but i have watched an England international side only lose 7 times in 5 years
