If they reduced the number of players by a couple, reduced the amount of points for drop goals and penalty's and outlawed kicking out on the full,it would be a decent game.
As it is,the referee's are the stars blowing up for infringements every two minutes and having intermidable scrums, but this why they get crowds of ex grammar and public schoolboys reliving their homo-erotic adolescence in the stands.
Chav
Good point,well put.

As a club union player you will agree with me that the lads that play union in the north are hard as nails and virtually none went to a public or grammar school then.

As a rugby union expert I don't understand why they don't just throw the ball forward. Every time they get it they are either throwing it backwards or side wards.

Clearly Robshaw made the wrong call not electing to kick the ball to the corner and push for the try, I imagine it was compensating for the choice last week to not take the 3 penalties on offer.

On a wider point the home nations have all been fairly shite, England need to get Burns in at fly half as Flood and Farrell don't have enough creativity to bring flair to the backline. I genuinely don't think we have any world class players and as usual we believe the players are better than they truly are.

Wales seem to have gone to pot, considering a large majority of the Lions team I imagine would have consisted of the Welsh players Gatland is going to have to have a think about where to find the form players.

Scotland losing at home to Tonga amused me but I don't think English fans at this stage have much to gloat about either.

I tend to agree with most of your post, apart from the last bit. England are very close to the Southern hemisphere sides, and but for a bad bounce here and a poor call there, would have beaten Australia and South Africa. In some respects the results of these games are irrelevant anyway, as England are clearly in a rebuilding phase, and are bringing through some excellent youngsters who I'd expect to get better and better with the more international experience they get. I think England will be a genuine threat at the next World Cup.

Rugby Yawnion - it's fuckin; shite as a spectacle isn't it ?
Seeing as you asked a question, I shall answer. No. That's why Twickenham is always full, unlike Wembley.

I think of the home nations we are the best placed to compete, however I can see us getting a bit of a drubbing next weekend against New Zealand. Australia were out of form and had suffered a hammering from France the week before and South Africa are crippled by injuries.
The interesting facts about yesterday was New Zealand routinely have less possession but when they go forward and break they almost always score.

I would give Rob Miller a go and bring Burns in and potentially Twelvetrees at inside centre as we don't look threatening enough currently.

What's wrong if they are ex public school boys?
