I have to say I watched Jones play in an under21's game at Colchester when he was still at Blackburn and he was head and shoulders above the rest. He is going to become a great player for England.

So would you call him a class act as well then ?

He certainly will be and it is good squad experience for him. I dont think he is currently better than Lescott but he certainly will be. I think he gets plaudits due to the forward runs he makes in a game.

Totally over-hyped. If he was that good why are the likes of Basle and Norwich waltzing through their defence? I'd check stats on how many chances the Rags have had against them if I could be arsed, I bet they are well into double figures per match.

There's no comparison, he's behind Johnny Evans in every single metric. In every single competition. Defensive stats, attacking stats, possession and out of possession movement maps, everything. There is not a single thing this year that Phil Jones has done that is better than Johnny Evans. He's also made more mistakes than Evans, and given the ball away far more whilst leading to several goals.

But he plays for the rags and looks like a gay porn star, so he's a "class act" now.
