A sign that English football still hasn't changed in terms of the international team.
A natural left footed, left winger, who can dribble with the ball, doesn't go. But 2 pacey right wingers who cannot cross do go because they have more caps. A goalkeeper who's kept more than 10 clean sheets in a team who have finished in the top half and lost twice at home, and has played for England before, doesn't get in. A striker who's scored over 25 goals doesn't get in because Heskey, erm, because Heskey, well, you try fucking explaining that one!
I've never got it. Every 2 years, I find myself questioning why certain players are going to these tournaments. What exactly do they offer? When on earth would be Michael Carrick come on and change a game for England? What kind of message does it send to English players who, each time a new manager is appointed are assured that players are picked on form, when the manager asks a player to come out of international retirement despite never having a good game for England, and recalling a cripple who cannot play two games in under 5 days?

The fact that most of us, who watch city week in week out think AJ should go and over Swp is biase because they are both city players its because he is so talented and deserves to go. I think its a digrace that he was only given 6 minutes and who can actually cover J.Cole on the left??Swp, Milner and Lennon are all right wingers. I really cant see how this decision has been made all based on experience AJ is obvisoulsy good enough and if i was england manager i would take Aj without doubt.

I don't agree. Carrick is a decent player and is a good back up to Barry who prob wont play in the first game.
