England Squad - Sept 2024 | Foden Withdrawn

Watch the team perform well whilst Bellingham is injured, then Carsley brings him right back in to the team as soon as he is remotely fit, and we begin to struggle again, which is blamed on Foden not being able to play well and support Bellingham whilst out of position.
The Blazers will pick him on name not form or fitness.

Leave him out if others are performing and let him earn a place....same with Kane.

City had the most players at the Euros & the most from a single club in the latter stages.

We should have asked for dispensation for all those who played from the quarter finals onwards.

This squad is always odd given that only 2 games have been played. Madueke was useless against us, scores a hat trick against Wolves and is called up. His name was never mentioned previously. Mainoo, useless last season, useless this but still gets a call up. Wharton good enough for the Euros squad but is now not in the squad. Stones and Foden not even played 90 minutes between them as we try and manage their return but called up. Gomes, we all know why. Walker bombed out but Maguire in. Jack is also an odd inclusion.

EDIT: Just seen this quote from Carsley.

Lee Carsley on why he chose not to include Kyle Walker: "I think the fact that Kyle hasn't played this season would suggest that Manchester City are phasing him in slowly.

"It's important that players coming in are up to speed and that they're ready to play. I would say 98% of the squad have played a lot of minutes".

How the fuck then can you pick Stones and Foden then!
Jesus, those last 2 paragraphs, another idiot whose logic is all over the place.

Fucking international bollocks.

I would imagine either Livramento or our RIco get shoved over to left-back now that Trippier has called it a day on the international scene. Maybe one of them will get a game there with Colwill playing the other.

Both very promising players with admirable positional flexibility, but as of right now neither of them has hit double figures in terms of matches as left-back.

Probably fine against the quality of opponents we face in the Nations League. But in a tournament that matters against a top side, a good player in his second or third best position probably isn't going to be enough.

English football is in desperate need of a natural left-back.
