Sturridge (18) with another couple today...

He is going to have so much hype on his shoulders to get the goals for England in the World Cup, even more so than Rooney if you ask me.

The problem being is that Liverpool create an immense amount of chances and are a team who are pretty much out and out attack, England on the other hand are currently built on pragmatism, so it's up to Sturridge and Rooney to take their chances when they get them because against the better teams in the competition they are not going to get many.

I am happy we are not to over reliant to Rooney now though, fair play to Sturridge.

after 27 games this season -

Sturridge - 18

Rodriguez - 10
Rooney - 10

Wellbeck - 8
Lambert - 8

Crouch - 6
Cole - 6

Very true on both points, I don't know how well an England team could replicate Liverpools style of play especially with such little time to train on it, hopefully Sturridge can keep firing as the other option Rooney keeps lacking on the international stage.

I'd still take Carroll too, I guess because I'm mental as fuck.

4 players in their starting front 6 today were English though. Gerrard, Henderson, Sterling, Sturridge. For the World Cup England should just keep those players in place and add Rooney and Wilshere/Chamberlain/Walcott/Carrick to the mix depending on the opposition.

Henderson--Gerrard--Wilshere
Rooney---Sturridge---Sterling

Would be a decent enough front 6 imo. Might just play decent football as well.

Rodriguez (11), Rooney (11) and Wellbeck (9) on the scoresheet today...

Call me a crazy, stupid, quite simply I don't care, I'd have Ings on that flight over Rooney right now.
