Listen please don't buy into that nonsense of having Rodwell in there as the Scott Parker player. That's so redundant. What happened to De Jong at Manchester City?

We all understand that it's good for players to have energy for days & apply pressure, but, pressure is most effective when done as a team, look at Barcelona, look at Swansea.

Who remembers the 6 second rule?

Everyone learned about it all of a sudden, Barcelona players do everything in their power to try and get the ball back from players in the 1st 6 seconds after losing it.
I'm sure other managers tried it, but, I doubt they have the proper understanding of the thought process to make it work for them.

They don't have a specific player that goes to get the ball do they? no.
That'd be stupid. Pressing is done best by a number of players, making that Parker, Rodwell player stupid. It's smarter to have all ball players in the midfield.

& teach them how & when to press. They press for 6 players because running around for longer would just make them tired & in that 1st 6 seconds it's actually easier to win it back, most teams don't think that quickly & so when the player wins the ball, they have to assess their options on what to do with it, whilst they are thinking... pow!

Before they win the ball teammates are not coming closer to them to make themselves available for passes so that 1st 6 seconds, the pressing on that individual before teammates make themselves available gives them a bigger chance to win the ball back.

Losing the ball is one of the triggers of when to press as a team, there are other triggers that they teach them about when it is smart to press as well.

That's all that's needed training. Not a player that isn't as good as everyone else in midfield running about, because that tells the other players, you don't have to as much & when they are on the ball, it means you have a weaker link in midfield in terms of possession.

Any way.. That team, would be fresh but, unlikely...

I'd like to see Micah and Walker in the same team. Walker is actually a very good crosser of the ball so he could play as a right winger too. He could help out Micah if need be, and Micah would be a great over lapping option for attacks as well.

Can't see either getting ahead of Glen Johnson however

The reason England are dog shite is nobody had the balls after our last world cup exit to say lets start again, the result was that embarrassment against an ordinary Italy. The problem is now we go into the world cup qualifiers and we all know the same olds will be in, if someone is really brave forget the world cup build a side for the tournament after because if we dont it will get even more embarrassing. No wonder the England v Scotland game is back on, at this moment its about our level
