England u17

Does this actually mean anything? Congrats and all that, but does being champs at u17 level mean the future is rosey for English football? How have other winners gone on to fare?

Not much to be fair we got to the final in 2010 I think it was against Spain and Connor Wickham played for England and the kid Delofeou who was on loan from Barca to Everton this season played for Spain

Edit
Just checked and Jack Butland was in goal Josh Macacheran (Chelsea) also played for England and Yaya Sonogo (Arsenal) also played for France, Jese Rodriguez played for Spain also

So on the whole I stand corrected it looks like the 2010 tournament produced quite a few pros

I think England have always done well at junior levels (bar last year's European U21s), as our youngsters are more athletic - an advantage which lessens as you get older and the technical skills of the foreign players shine through instead.

The fact that Plattini and the Uefa cronies were all in attendance suggests it is of significance.

It's held every year and we last won it in 2010, this title is our second in the history of the competition.

Some notable inclusions in the 2010 squad who are now playing in the Premier League are Ross Barkley, Saido Berahino and Connor Wickham (player of the tournament by the way).

I thought the two central defenders were top class today and both look like they could make it.

One of the central defenders was Joe Garner,of Charlton,we have just recruited their head of development Paul Hart.
