Hard to tell how good Gomes is in this type of game. need to see him in a game where we are pressed and he needs to take it from the defence. Looks a tidy no frills player so far. Exactly what we need, but no different from Rico who I feel has a little more to his game

I described the sort of player he is a few pages back as I watch ligue 1. He’s exactly as you described but positionally disciplined and good at find good positions up top when he gets the chance but he keeps it tidy and ticking hence why he won’t get rave reviews.
