Southgate made England competitive but this team deserves a manager with a more adventurous approach, his tenure will be marked by under usage of Grealish. French must have been pleasantly surprised when saka was taken off, it was an extremely dumb move to put it politely
His continued insistence on playing two ball winning midfielders at the expense of ball playing midfielders is why he/we will NEVER win a tournament or beat a top side. We give up way too much

Thought England were the better team overall, but took too long to build up.
I’d like to think that we would complain about the officiating, it was appalling.
But if you don’t even put it on target from the spot, it’s probably just aswell we weren’t given the other 2 penalties.
I thought the game was pretty even but agree with everything else you said. Neither side looked impressive to me.

At least Trent can go back to dipperland with plenty of splinters in his arse

Fair play to saka. He played well tonight. Very forward thinking.
Rice needs some courage to receive the ball in tight positions. Shaw did ok.
Walker was immense as showed he is more than just a speedster.
Kane . Feel for him as her had the minerals to take the pens but isn’t a world class forward.

Pickford is a complete sausage. Should have done better with that first goal. Needs to be a yard further if his line at least. Very poor keeping. No real spring there either.

Henderson doesn’t have the brains to play top class midfield. Knocked his pipe out chasing lloris down when should be left to the front three or just left to have the ball.
There’s no one to blame really tonight pal. We played well and should have won it. It’s a mentality thing, we just aren’t winners. We have the talent and southgate set them up to win, but we didn’t.
