England v Senegal - Tue 10th June '25, 19:45 | Friendly

I didn't watch much of the England games, but from outside looking in, they'll be nowhere near the semi or final of the world cup if they continue to play some of the players who played in these two games.

Whats the deal with pandering to Kyle Walker to get him over the 100 cap mark? A strong manager wouldn't tolerate having a weak link in every team that he plays in these days near the squad.

Henderson is done long ago

There are also several what i call nothing players. I've never seen the fuss with Madueke or Curtis Jones. What has Madueke ever done to even be in the squad?

I said at the time that Southgate left and Tuchel came in that Tuchel would struggle to reach the heights that Southgate did and that England fans will be thinking it wasn't too bad afterall under mr wasitcoat

Oh, it was! It truly was. Fair enough, Tuchel hasn't fared much better, but he has only been in situ for five minutes or so, we had about 6 or 7 years of that dull, unadventurous stodge that Southgate produced.

Under Southgate we had some great attacking options, we had players who could add a bit sparkle, a bit of zest to his playing style, but he ignored them and stuck with his favourite sideways and reverse passing tactics. If England had played the 'Dog and Duck' in the Sunday pub league Southgate would have put eight behind the ball.

Don't get me wrong, the way things are Tuchel might well prove to be a lot worse, but he's going to have to go some to out-dull the dullest of them all - Southgate.

Not many international sides aren't dull the last few years.

Many seem to miss this point , international football is dull in general - it’s the hype and how much is on the line in later stages that’s the real excitement, freindlys and group stages are boring and always will be no matter who’s in the dugout.

The nations league finals were far from dull.

4 quality sides gave it everything and it made for exciting and dramatic matches.

Maybe FIFA and UEFA need to look at that?

They can have 3 different trophies for European competition. But how about a mini euros/world cup for the smaller nations where the prize is playing in the big one?

The host country would still make money from fans of the minnows travelling for a meaningful tournament for them and it would guarantee England get to each major tournament.

:)

Across 102 games under Southgate, the Hungary defeat was one of three games England lost by more than a single goal in 90 minutes. The others were two 2-0 defeats to Belgium.
