England v Serbia - Thu 13th Nov '25, 19:45 | Word Cup Qualifier

Probably because we don't buy into the bullshit and hype that surrounds him.

I haven't seen anything from Bellingham that warrants the level of sychophantic coverage he gets.

If a club wants to retire his shirt number because he leaves them to join Real Madrid then that's their business.

But he flatters to deceive if you ask me. I've seen him go missing in big games too, so he's hardly got the big match temperament.

He’s a very good player either way, maybe not worth all the hype that surrounds him but that’s not really his fault is it, I like the fact he has a attitude on the pitch about him - we need a bastard type to rough a few feathers and something we actually lacked when we had the ‘golden generation’ , it’s fair enough some don’t like him but every England match on here now centre on him it seems, did he pass to Foden enough? That bad pass , touchel clearly hates him etc etc - yet it’s the media that give him all the attention? England are in a great place at the moment so I find it depressing that many would rather belittle one of our own than be positive where England are at.

Bellingham has a big ego, sure, but many of the top players do. He's achieved an incredible amount for someone his age so he is walking the walk. I do think on the pitch he can be a bit individual, and England just might function as a team better without him. But his talent is obvious. Anyone questioning that surely just can't understand football.

Anyway, as for England, to potentially win every group game without conceding a single goal is a fantastic achievement, regardless of the opposition. Serbia were supposed to give us tough games. It's only because we spanked them 7-0 over two games that they suddenly became a pub team in some people's eyes. I really like what Tuchel is doing with our national team and regardless of how the WC goes I hope he's in the job for 2 or 3 years after.
He plays football like it’s singles tennis.

Wish that was the case , sadly so many obsessed with club loyalty’s and hating certain players they half hope we lose.
There are some. I remember before our takeover in 2008, we (City) might get the occasional decent cup run. We might occasionally challenge for a minor European place, but we could never seriously challenge for the league. So all our hopes and expectations were pinned on United losing and for our national teams - especially when our own players were involved, and we always had a few.

The selfish attitude that international tournaments result in injuries to key players is understandable as it could hamper the chances of your own team's achievements. I wouldn't think it was widespread though.

I did used to get annoyed at Koemans though, and Martinez, who always seemed to play KDB for 90 minutes in every international, often when we had just nursed him back from the injury sustained in the 94th minute of the last friendly against Wales or Andorra or similar.

His attitude is appalling on the pitch. He’s constantly on the floor, slapping the deck, putting on a crying face to the ref because he’s not fallen for his dive.

He’s been a disgrace with his diving and moaning in a few games against City.

He used to openly call his teammates ‘cunts’ when he was at Dortmund.

Literally watched the last 10 minutes,

Saw Foden lay 2 on plates for Eze,

Eze walked off with 1 goal!

Phil Foden is the most accomplished and technically gifted footballer of this generation.

The way he receives, uses and plays the ball is poetry in motion, a master of his craft.
The pass to Eze was a 5 yard pass and the obvious pass. I love Phil but it wasn’t on a plate, that goal by Eze wasn’t a tap in, many players would have missed it.

Thats why I really don't like him. His attitude on the pitch is selfish in the extreme. He passes to his pals and thats it. He thinks he is the most important player England have. I genuinely wouldn't want him anywhere near our club as I believe his personality is disruptive to team ethos. Tuchel will have done some job if he can change that.
