I think you've got to look at these things in the context of 70 minutes of other players doing absolutely fuck all. In that situation, someone who runs 10 yards with the ball and manages a tame shot is an absolute genius.Am I missing something with the praise for Palmer.
He did as much as others and fluffed his shot at the end
Also the praise for Gordon was him running in field and not down the line. Dixon even took a win out of him running the ball out of play 1st touch he had.

To be fair to Southgate this is slightly better. This is a cohesive and free flowing compared to 2006-7Stuart Pearce’s football was better than this shit.
