Flawed logic, I’m afraid.
Would any player in the Japan squad, or Saudi squad or Brentford squad have got in to the team they beat last time they played? The whole reason football is what it is is because of results like those 3.

A good point but I doubt the USA coach could get his team playing in a organised defensive unit like the above examples.

Back in 2013 on opening day, under similar circumstances, a badly outmatched Norwich beat City 3-2. A fantastic performance by Norwich, but a result that was entirely unexpected.

The point being - yes, anything could happen in the England v. USA game; but a positive result for USA is unlikely (yet would be a pleasant surprise from my perspective of course :-)). How's your goalie been doing lately, BTW? :-)

Was it really the opening day? I remember it being early in the season but not the first game. Not 100% sure though.

Whilst his shot stopping is not terrible, he often parries it into danger and his footwork is shocking. Just hope your boys don’t close him down very quickly or he could slice one into his own goal!!

Presented by Mark Pougatch. Punditry form Roy Keane, Gary Neville and Ian Wright. Commentary from Sam Matterface and Lee Dixon. Pitchside is Laura Woods, Karen Carney and Gabriel Clarke

What's the opposite of a dream team?
Does it really take 9 people?
