England wasting one of the most talented squads ever assembled on Southgate

England wins by 3+ goals at major championships.

1950-2017: 5
( 3-0, 3-0, 4-1, 3-0, 3-0)

2018-2023: 5

( 6-1, 4-0, 6-2, 3-0, 3-0).

such boring football under southgate. So negative and everything goes backwards
There’ll be a pie chart on here soon. Cockneys have a track record of coming on bluemoon and posting meaningless charts and graphs.

1) Qualification is a given? Tell that to Italy and the Netherlands.

2) Have you considered that if pragmatic, boring, defensive football was not successful in tournaments, Southgate wouldn't play that way?

We’ve just played two first halves of football against Malta and North Macedonia with 0 shots on target.

In qualification matches for a tournament we’ve already qualified for.

What's that got to do with my post?

By the way, Spain and France an their respective club teams wish they'd played out easy boring games with nothing on the line instead of coming back with a bunch of injuries from meaningless games at a time when FIFPRO has confirmed injuries are way up on normal because of the knock on effects of Qatar.

We both know that if England had won 10-0 against Malta, you'd have been the first one in here to say it meant nothing.

Well, I think he's doing a great job, but then I'm Welsh, which should tell you everything you need to know about how well he's actually doing!

Sweeping (and incorrect) statement. Why would I? An international game is an international game, regardless of context and the players will be playing for their country. It’s never meaningless.

What’s it got to do with your post? You hinted that Southgate can play attacking if he wanted to. He had the chance to against Malta and North Macedonia and both games we went 45 minutes without a shot on target.

My point is that if international football wasn’t built on pragmatism then he’d be nowhere near the job. In my opinion obviously. But, luckily for him, it is. So he is.

He does well at tournaments and has a good record up to a point but has ultimately fallen short with a team that has everything required to be winners. They’re not shithouses - like the 00-12 crew who seemingly couldn’t care less about the international games - and later-life in tournament football is built on defence. If he can’t do that (which is what I think he’s good at) when it matters then he shouldn’t be in the job. Again, in my opinion.

So in your opinion he is a top draw manager? Yes??
One of the best there currently is, yes?and there is no one you would want to replace him with as England Manager. Yes?
