England World Cup 2026 Squad | Trafford, Stones, Guehi & Nico in

I’ll say it again, there is in my opinion players being picked because of who they play for,and ones being picked on pressure from England’s sponsors, throw in the media as well having an influence..
Been like that for years, I gave up watching England a long time ago because of that very reason

No MGW is a bit baffling, he was the reason I could understand them leaving Foden and Palmer out.
I'm not surprised if true about MGW he was told by TT pretty much he had to be playing for CL side as that was where all is competition was playing. That what makes it even more annoying that he was used just to sell tickets by the FA for promoting ticket sales at CG for last summer friendly, form and performances don't matter you just know that Rashford is going to fill that spot.

There is no bigger and popular club than us. So that’s nonsense.

He’s not been picked because he’s not earned it. I’m glad, too.

So why are any rag players going?

Slabhead says
"I'm arguably one of the best defenders in the world in both boxes. I don't think that's to question really." if there is no question then why is it arguable?
I'd argue he's not one of the best defenders in the world in either box nor anywhere else on the pitch ! He's deluded IMHO.
Unless he's referring to the Witness Box or Dock?

Seems like this is the (as yet unconfirmed) squad:

GK: Pickford, D. Henderson, Trafford

Defenders: James, Livramento, Stones, Guehi, Konsa, Burn, Quansah, O'Reilly, Lewis-Skelly

Midfielders: Rice, Anderson, J. Henderson, Mainoo, Bellingham, Rogers, Eze

Forwards: Kane, Watkins, Toney, Rashford, Gordon, Saka, Madueke

For me that's the poorest squad in a long time, both in terms of technical ability and experience.

No real quality off the bench, no game changers. A lot of runners and not a lot of footballers.

Glad to be honest, don't think the scrutiny would have done him any good. Get a good pre-season in, we need him on it now.

Good.

Phil has hardly had a break from football since he was 17. He needs a prolonged rest to recover and recharge his batteries, both mental and physical.

He can go fishing for six weeks with his dad and get away from the game completely.

So starting 11 is ??

Pickford
James, Konsa, Guehi, Oreilly
Rice, Anderson
Saka, Rogers, Rashford
Kane

Stones too risky. Trafford not played enough. Bellingham too much of a ****.
