England

I am very arsed when England get knocked out iih. Love the summer tournaments.

I'm not English so I'd rather see England get battered in the groups stages, nothing worse than hearing the media praise up this shit team.

You'll end up getting sucked into it all, trust me. Its a mad one for me, as I rarely bother with the qualifiers unless its a big game, but eveen then I don't get overlyexcited about it. When at the actual tournament though, well I can't see how you can't get excited. Some of my best days on the piss have been during the world cup and/or Euro's, but mainly the world cup as it grips the whole nation. Last one when we played our first game it was scorching outside, we had my house open-doored with a BBQ going on, and the neighbours opposite the same. Everyone was just having pure banter, loving the day as a whole and then going bonkers when it eventually kicked off.
I was up in London for a gig 4 years ago, so watched the Portugal QF in a boozer. As we left the pub some morons started throwing chairs and glasses. In a nutshell that reminded me why I couldn't give a toss.

You obviously never stood outside the Albert then following an end of season success for us. I did, a few times actually and nobheads were lobbing bottles and stuff at the buses going past, not caring whether they missed and hit women, kids etc, most of which were fellow blues. Whilst I see your point, its no reason not to support the national team because the same mindset could be applied to supporting City in that respect. On that, i'd love to find the dick head responsible for cobbing a half full can of stella, missing his 'target', (which was a fellow blue having a laugh with a megaphone), and hitting my dad on the shoulder in the process.

Yes, love the World Cup. Different to the Euros though - bigger, it's the ultimate footy tournament in my eyes. Have great memories of drinking at about 7am during the Japan Korea World Cup. Probably would only have one eye on it if England we not there though.

I know a lot of people don't share the same love of England and the World Cup, maybe partly understandable with the disappointments we have seen, but it's till good fun and a great opportunity to have a few beers.

This ^^^

We all want 4th place this season but if we don't get it it is a matetr of time IMO until we do, and a matter of time until 4th becomes 2nd and second becomes champions.

For England though, it is a one-off chance that comes around every 4 years. When I was growing up in the 70s it didn't come around at all - my early world cup memories are of watching the sweaties in Germany and Argentina. (That bloody Archie Gemmell goal still gets replayed). My country, champions of the world? I'll have some of that.

I will be shouting for England, Rooney Ferdinand and all - even John Terry.

C'mon England! Love the world cup and for all those jock twats not supporting us. Well you lot can sit at home in your Paraguay shirts and tartan skirts watching re-runs of of curling and cabre tossing, you useless porridge scoffing ginger fuckers!

I thought we're meant to be football fans, why wouldn't you support your country? It seems a bit snobbish.

Nope, couldn't give a toss. It goes back way back when, from when they didn't pick City players who were clearly on top of their game. Plus I am adopted so I don't actually know what my country is !

we wont win it with or without rooney but im looking forward to the whole thing

beers,hot weather,shorts and t-shirt, women & football 24/7

bluddy LOVE it

Sorry mate, bad news but....

You could have traced your lineage but chose not to as there was a cost involved......

You hear the national anthem before an England game but feel nothing........

you'd rather have tatties an neeps than Fish and Chips on a Firday night...

your friends don't understand a word you say when you're drunk....

You have braveheart on video still even though you only have a DVD player...

You pop your sisters skirt on when she's out.....

you have ginger hair......

you ARE Scottish.............
