Lots of Maresca You Tube analysis of tactics popping up,you don't need to watch many to see our squad his made for his approach.Think the fact a lot of people at the club probably going back as far as Txiki seem to have known who they want and prepared to ground for it should give us a lot of confidence,yes. I'm excited by it too.

Especially as he knows he’s he will be under pressure to deliver, and will always be compared against Pep. I’m convinced this is an interim appointment and we have our eye on an another manger in two/three years.

On the other hand, everyone knowing how hard it is to follow Pep, might take some of the pressure off.

He might also have the 'valve release' effect that Pellegrini had after Mancini and to some extent Slot had after Klopp.

I think it's either Marmoush or Reijnders Sam Lee did go on about Reijnders and that he was maybe leaving this summer but somethings changed. Maresca likes his midfielders that box crash and score goals, Reijnders at Milan was that, he wasn't a 8 he played more as a ten, in Maresca system Reijnders would be in a similar system he played at Milan. We might see a completely different player

The club was in a different place then,plus maybe the greatest coach of all time was our target. Not a chance the club are waiting around now,they want to maintain the momentum we have.Plus do you think players like Haaland would accept 3 years of waiting about. We will all have different opinions on what we think of Maresca for now,but the clubs expectations will be high and his targets will be high,if he meets them he'll get an extension.

True, although not sure Slot is feeling that this season, they all want him out, and Klopp back.
 
He's not going to have much time with the team, his first proper training with the full squad will be after the community shield id guess. The world cup plus players need two weeks holiday, might have to have patience with him at the start of the season.

I’m agreeing with you, I don’t think we will stand still, and think we can still win trophies with Maresca. All I am saying if hypothetically they are interested longer term in another big name manager this could be the case. No idea if there is any truth in the article saying we have identified the one after Maresca. Three years isn’t a long contract if that’s what it is. Having said all that I hope he smashes it and we all need to be behind him.
 
Nothing wrong with Maresca's ideas but the question mark for me is his whole man-management credentials. Klopp would be an interesting idea but that would be too much change in one go.
 
I just want to see Haaland being put through a bit more often tbh. Watching him make a run and the ball just get recycled again is incredibly frustrating.

Man management is probably 50% of the job at our level. If you can't do that, everything else is irrelevant. As he's been at the club for 2 years I'd assume the club know he has the emotional intelligence to be excellent at this. There's no doubt that with our club culture we wouldn't recruit an arsehole. There might be results for a year or so but then it would kills us quickly as morale drops off.
