Enzo Maresca

As a long shot has anyone considered that the new manager could be Iraola. There has been no news on where he was going to end up. Wouldn't be a bad choice.

I think Maresca is nailed on. Way too much noise around it from the same people who knew Peppy was leaving.

Hope we keep an eye on Iraola though. If he goes to a club somewhere around the level that bridges the gap between Bournemouth and us and does well, then I think he would be definitely worth considering if we need a manager later on.

He actually retired at New York City.

Assuming that wasn’t rhetorical, I expect him to win the League next season, with the other domestic pots secondary to going further in Europe. As for players, I expect him to reinvigorate old hands (e.g. Foden, Dias, Lewis, Haaland, Gvardiol, Savinho) and push newer players to fresh heights.

I expect the club to give him time- my expectations are lower for the fans, and I expect him to eat, sleep, and drink the club. It is very difficult to follow a larger than life character, Guardiola is more akin to Shankly than Ferguson in that regard, but Paisley showed what can be achieved when the culture has taken root. In short, Great Expectations.

Yeah he does now our expectations so I bet that will be his target! Be interesting if he takes the cups seriously

I think winning the domestic cups is the footballing equivalent of baby food: serves its purpose but more sustenance is required.

You could tell from the looks on faces and words in interviews after Bournemouth that they wanted the League. That’s how it should be and they should satisfy that hunger next season.

I never realised he started his playing career with West Brom... not in Italy

And his wife is a bit of a stunner

They also have four young children, whom they have reportedly kept in school in London, so there will be a fair bit of upheaval for them all this summer.

I think there might be a delay in appointing Maresca because Chelsea will claim compensation. It is possible that City would have been working on that but I doubt we would initiate discussions whilst Pep was in the job.

I thought that too. And take free kicks and throw ins seriously - Semenyo has a fantastic throw.
If that includes arsenal type goalkeeper fouling .,no thanks, anyway we’ll probably see some sort of clampdown on that next season, hope so anyway.
