Enzo Maresca

I don't know what this means but a few vids I've watched and asked someone that had Maresca as their manager, Maresca likes his wingers to be wingers not to have any other role. I asked does that mean he likes them high wide but he just said he likes them to be traditional old school wingers.

At least we might see some early balls get put into the box

We need to get vk out of our minds and support maresca, if he is successful then vk wont be needed and i get the emotional connection to vk but the reality is this, vk won the championship and so did maresca and i know hes done well at bayern but the whole system in Germany is set up to help bayern win, its harder not to win the league with bayern than it is to win it.

VK will be back in Manchester one way or another, and when that time comes he will be back with us, guaranteed, but yea you are right for now, we have to support the babysitter

if its him then hes got work cut out with this lot any team this season maybe before that shows any effort and games over and that not just fringe team but first choice crumble

Wasn’t Marescas main problem at Chelsea the lack of Senior players- leaders on the pitch. Chelsea would not buy them as they were only interested in buying youth. He presumably values strong mentality and at least some experience. He has that here and will know a fair number of the players well. Expecting he will stick with the 4 at back and inverted full back as that’s his style as well, finding an extra body to put in midfield. The problem he will have to fix is conceding goals the way we did against Spurs, Forest , Everton and Chelsea at the tail end of the season. That I think is down to fixing the midfield. Anderson and/or Fernández may do that but playing both and Rodri would lose us I think a good bit of creativity . The rest of the side I think has enough in it and is just a matter of taking the chance to upgrade if an opportunity comes up.

For me we need competition for places and people pushing each other on. I think one of the biggest issues we've had post treble is there's nobody pushing the first XI from the bench.
I agree but a 100m+ player, fighting it out with Rodri or another 100m + player for 1 DM place ?

Have a look at City's subs in the FA Cup Final.

His main problem at Chelsea, was Chelsea.

I wonder whether Fernandinho was back at the Etihad for more than Pep leaving yesterday.

Is he going to be a welcome addition to the backroom staff?
Now that you say that, he is one of the guest speakers at Co op live today.

Edit: Not that I think he's going to make some grand announcement!

Doubt it. This is what he said late last year in an interview,

"Nothing in football motivates me anymore, I've already achieved great things in football. I enjoyed everything I could. Now, it's time to enjoy time with my family."

He's Pellegrini.

He's a good manager and could pop off. But realistically, he's the man before the man imo. And he knows that, he gets to repair a slightly tarnished reputation in a comfortable environment. Win a few trophies and get a big job in Italy.

The man, imo, is Luis Enrique not Kompany. But as always we'll see how it works out.
I hope Maresca can come in, put his own stamp on the team and be a success but Luis Enrique would be a dream at some point in the future. I love the guy and he's the only one (currently) that could come close to what Pep has achieved. At the moment, Kompany's still a few levels behind that.

And thanks for referring to him by his proper name. Enrique's not his surname!!!

A bit off topic but I was watching Betis v Levante on Saturday night and Pelligrini's looking good for his age (champs league for them next season). Isco's still going as well so maybe we'll be back in for him during the summer ;)
And the weekend before, I was at the Levante game and was surprised to see Demichelis on the touchline for Mallorca (relegated). Took me a while to recognise him without the ponytail!
