Enzo Maresca

He probably would have started working in some form

Official announcement doesn’t matter though and also very few managers would say no to us and no would be purely bcoz of existing commitments not as club

Had we gone for Alonso or Iraola or Maresca they would have said yes as well

Whether or not he turns into our version of moyes remains to be seen

No point flapping, it's not as if Maresca is the bestest coach out there and if we missed out on him we'd be fucked.
All a bit meh for me
It's not me flapping mate. We've no football for nearly 3 months, and any signings will happen anyway, I don't think an official announcement makes any difference to anything, I'm sure it's "done" and he'll be fully informed on comings and goings.

I don’t really know why people are panicking and getting bent out of shape about this one.

It’s clearly evident he’s going to be our Manager next season, so it’s not like we’re operating in an uncertain scenario which needs addressing - and in a World Cup year he wouldn’t be actively doing much right now anyway (given the players are all otherwise engaged at the moment) which he can’t do already in terms of planning for the season ahead.

It’s not like he’s forbidden from thinking about City at all til we’ve sorted out the legal impediments to him joining us. He’ll be planning already - which is all he’d be doing at this stage either way.

Our DoF is in charge of transfers, so it’s not like we operate some old school structure where Maresca would be managing player acquisition - so that shouldn’t be impacted in any way.

If it’s just a case of fans wanting to see an official confirmation and welcome interview on the Club website because they’re a bit bored before the World Cup, then I hardly think that should be a factor in influencing the Club’s thinking in any way.

I can’t see the urgent issue on this one at all.

It’s going to happen - that much is plain for anyone to see.
It is only evident on the proviso that the information that Chelsea's claim is a 7 figure number is accurate. That has only just come to light. The PL have the power to suspend managers, impose fines and transfer bans, deduct points etc.

Sense on here ?

It'll never catch on.

Stop being a drama queen, you've only got the ramblings from a very bias media to go on, and they won't know much more than we do.

I'm sure Khaldoon knows what is going on, and is quite comfortable with it all, that's who matters.

FFS just make Rodri player manger for the next season, getting tired of these cunts screwing us over for misdemeanours when the whole fucking lot of them arse, rags, dips, chavs, spuds etc are rotten to the core.

You're joking aren't you? I'm looking forward to a managerial spell where his future isn't constantly questioned...Rodri would be worse than Pep in that regard!!

Give over mate - the PL aren’t going to impose a point deduction or a transfer ban over this.

That outcome is in no-one’s interest, and any claim they might seek to pursue either of those measures is absurdly melodramatic at best.

If you have any examples of a precedent for a penalty of that magnitude, I’m all ears - but otherwise, you’re being disingenuous by even suggesting it.

This will be settled for a figure that both parties agree, and which will remain undisclosed - and Maresca will be announced once that process is complete.

And the point I was making was that this will have no material impact on his preparation for the job, or our planning for this summer - as both are able to proceed more or less as planned ahead of a formal confirmation.

No idea and really don’t care it isn’t our problem and for me when we appoint or announce Maresca isn’t my problem. It will be done when its done. As for transfers the club and Maresca will know and have discussed at length who they want who they don’t want what profile of players and Vianna will be working on that whether Maresca appointed today ,tomorrow or next month.
Very true but City fans never have it easy do they!! Problem after problem usually caused by our rivals. A bit sick of it TBH

If we have to pay compensation for Maresca why not just pay compensation for Vinny?
I think he’s just more than happy at Bayern right now and why wouldn’t he be? They’re better than us. He knows that the City job will always be there for him, providing he doesn’t suddenly fall off a cliff as a manager. Incidentally, Kompany’s current Bayern contract expires after the 2028/29 season. Maresca’s supposed contract expiry date? Also end of the 2028/29 season. Just saying…

While it was known both of our last two managers were coming, Pep was formally announced on the 3rd of July, and Pellegrini on the 14th of June.

So if anything, we are not 'behind' with this one.

How fucking very dare you, coming on here and posting very sensible view's,get your fucking coat :)

So could chelsea theoretically act like cunts and block or delay this move? What will happen? If not sorted by July?

This is a good point. Chelsea could say no to any offer City makes. Do we know how long his contract was at Chelsea and if there are any extra one-year extensions, Knowing Chelsea, they will not release details and what sort of power they hold on Enzo-Maresca

As I said, what are City playing at if this was known for months about the composition Chelsea would want
Pep's possible leaving was known for months by the club, even if he said it was later on when the reporter broke the news, City still should have had a plan in place ready to go.

What should have happened is that Enzo-Maresca and Pep worked together for that one-year extension and after 6 months Pep could have stepped down

I love Maresca for the fact he called time at Chelsea knowing he was coming to city in a certain amount of time and waited for his moment. He’ll only be loyal to city haha - brilliant. I hope he acts like this with city vs the media, referees, PL etc etc

True, lets be honest, he hasn't got a great cv as a head coach, forget that pre season friendly bollocks cup.
Chelsea fans i've talked to have been pretty scathing about his time there but like you said, our club believe he's the man for us & we all hope that he is.
and some wanted rid of pep' when we played walking football
