They obviously don't consider stability at any point in their planning.

They run their club how people run their teams on FIFA Football or Football Manager games, they just try and hoover up all the young and upcoming talent, but it doesn’t work, you need a balance of experience and youth as our best teams have had.
 
Italian coaches do really well in the premier league. I’m looking forward to what Enzo can do I also think we will be a bigger threat in Europe next season. Italian coaches are the kings of knockout football.

If we back him and give him what he needs for his system I think we may be in for a surprise.

We have arguably the best lawyers in the business so should it not have been investigated or negotiated a bit earlier? Not a massive issue I understand but it would have been nice to get it announced a bit sooner?

I’d only be worried if it gets to the first day of preseason and it’s not done. What can Maresca be doing at the moment? All the players are either focusing on the World Cup or are on holiday, as will the staff. He will be in the loop with what signings are being made.

Him not working since January after the discussions with City evidently getting him sacked will have given him some time to build up his knowledge on the current playing squad and what he wants from them. It’s just a waiting game now, the club knew Pep was leaving and now we get to see how the club evolves under a new manager.

In truth, I saw his name mentioned online by Caught Offside and thought yes, he would be a good addition. I prefer Anderson, but if you think hard enough, there are other players e.g., Tonali who City might consider.

For me, if Rodri has a good World Cup, the need for Anderson goes down a little. At the moment, fans do not know whether Rodri will recover. The WC is a good test.

I don't understand your point regarding Anderson. Are you saying he is a replacement for Rodri? I don't think so. Rodri has been giving every indication that he would not be upset by a move to Madrid and I expect that to happen sooner or later. If he stays after the WC it will be interesting to see if he can approach the levels achieved in the past next season. Either way not sure the competition will help us in the league, others too of course, one thing is sure we can't afford to lose 2 of the first 3 games again.

For me the trophies are the icing on the cake but the enjoyment factor of the football is really important.

I don’t want to be undertaking a 10 hour round trip, missing out on time with friends/family, spending 90 quid on petrol to watch Maresca bore me to tears for 90 minutes with sidewards, backwards football.

Especially when more progressive, attacking managers are out there:.

I’ve spent all season digging out Arsenal and the football they play, considering the money they spent so going to be a hypocrite now.

Maresca will give continuity of style. If that's not the style for you then you have to vote with your feet.
We have spent years developing a playing style that is synched from 'Junior' blues to the first XI.
I imagine that we have chosen Maresca for exactly that reason.
The interesting part, for me, is if Maresca can have the ingenuity of Pep to keep developing this style to cope with fresh challenges that arrive.

Also can he get the current crop of misfits/underperformers to pull their fingers out
  • Rodri (since his injury)
  • Foden (since being footballer of the year)
  • Dias (since shacking up with MJ)
  • Nico Gonzalez
  • Ait-Nouri
  • Marmoush
  • Reijnders
  • Savinho

Feel there is a player in of Nico G, Savinho ans Marmoush... Reijnders just isnt built for the league

Will be interesting to see if he even gets a chance to work with them. Feel they will all be gone by the time pre-season kicks in

I watched a very informative video on his appointment at Bayern and how Pep was unequivocal in recommending him when they sought his opinion.

Again, kinda ironic given Maresca has clearly been hand picked because of his ties to the club, sure Pep recommended him as well
