Generally I’m fairly neutral on the Royals, don’t fancy the alternative too much … President Blair or, even worse, President Johnson or Farage. But there’s something about William that just screams ****. He always comes across as an arrogant, selfish, self serving, opportunist. A bit of a nasty, untrustworthy bloke and I’ve always wished Harry (or Camilla) would twat him. Apart from the noncing he’s not much different than his Uncle Andy!

Whenever the idea of a President is mentioned people seem to be unable to think beyond a politician..so we get the same discredited names trotted out. The only relevance of a politician would be dependent on the powers given. So setting them aside there are plenty of names in public life who might be suitable. Would anybody object if someone like Richard Attenborough was chosen.

How is this perv in any position to demand two homes for him and the toe sucker also who will pay for the upkeep of said homes. Just send them into exile job done

As we do not have a President it is not going to happen in my life time. The point was if we had had a Presidential system 30 years ago would people have felt comfortable with somebody of his background as opposed to a politico. The debate is always derailed because people always assume is has to be a politico

I think in Ireland they have tended to elect non politicians as president.

I guess most people, myself included, look towards those people they imagine would ‘want’ the role and that would probably be those from a political background. Much would depend on the job description of course.

And he’s a Villa fan.

“Only those who do not seek power are qualified to hold it.” Plato

There have only been 9 in 85 years, and over half have been politicians.

I think the main reason that people think about politicians is that there will be political/media push for someone, or that the British public will appoint someone ridiculous. President Rylan?

Is this normal.
Prince Andrew is reported to have a large collection of teddy bears, with some sources stating he owns around 72. He reportedly has a specific routine for arranging them, and staff have claimed they received training on how to place them in a certain order, often on his bed.

The audacity of this guy wanting two plush abodes ...how about settling for a windowless basement room in a dingy dilapidated squalor somewhere the middle of Two Dogs Fightin' (Huyton) whilst Belmarsh frees up space.
Serious question.....

Why does he not just buy his own house, same for her?

Why do they need the stste to support them. I know he could be classified as a veteran and there is a strong case to support these people but.... if he has the means to support himself, why the fuck do they want/need state support?

Perhaps he stole them from 72 young girls that he also apparently doesn't recall meeting ?
