I don't understand this take at all (and you're not the only one to have said it).

You'd have a point if this was a criminal case where the victim had been paid hush money, but it wasn't. It was a civil case where the end game was always about securing a payout for the victim.

If that payout is on the table without having to go through the rigours of trial, why shouldn't she take it?

Your ire, if any, should be aimed at the people who decided not to pursue criminal charges against Prince Andrew.

because of the no result or blame being written in the books
its a pointless case if you take the money and run because you wanted a verdict of guilty first and foremost

I don't agree but you're entitled to your opinion.

A guilty verdict in a civil case wouldn't have changed much; she'd have got a payout and he'd have got on with his life. Which is pretty much where we are now. Yes, things could be worse for him but he hardly comes out of this as an exonerated innocent party.
 
The interview he did back in 2019 still holds up as a great bit of entertainment.

'I had a condition where I could not sweat'. Brilliant.
