Eric Abidal and Ramadan

What a stupid thread!!

You 'don't want Yaya to be affected by it' and yet it's Yaya's personal religion...

Which makes it none of your business what Yaya does within his own religion pertaining to sport.

I cannot, for the life of me, see why it bothers you unless, as others have said, it is just to argue.

Of course it's a veiled attempt to provoke a reaction.

^^^ This!

Don't understand why this question of ramadan keeps being brought up. Nearly every premier league team and almost all the big clubs around the world have at least 1 muslim player.

The asian lass from round the corner has just been and dropped some grub off, asked her how hard it is,
"Its fairly easy, you just get used to it and the discipline of it from being a child, eat at 9.30 tonight then start fasting at 3.30 tomorrow morning".

She is 1 of millions who will be fasting, footballers included.

I respect anyone doing this, but especially those doing it over long sunlight hours like in England at the moment. I was under the impression that you're allowed to go by the daylight hours of Mecca, which would make it a bit easier, so fair play to anyone choosing to fast for that long each day.

Can you please tell me what the hell the last bit has to do with the question you asked?

I'm atheist. I believe that it's fucking ridiculous that people choose to fast for a few weeks based on a fictional book, but it's even more ridiculous that there are certain loopholes in this. It's made up bollocks in my opinion and I don't want Yaya to be affected by it.

If you disagree, I respect your opinion, I just want to hear different opinions on the topic.

just another excuse to have a go at the muslims again!
Muslims again? You've been here two minutes, what do you know of "again"?

All religion gets a staffing on here, not just Islam

It's light for about 18 hours a day in the UK at the moment.
