Thats right, I’d guess we have a total package price, that we would negotiate around. What I’m saying is, if we think we have an agreement and another club comes in offering a deal that is over our total package budget, give or take a bit,we would walk away not be drawn into a bidding war or held to ransom.Depends what the ‘package price‘ is I suppose. If we presume we were prepared to pay £120M for Kane plus £300k a week for 5 years that takes us to £200M. If Harland is on £67M, there’s quite a bit to play with. Admittedly they won’t want to blow their wage structure out of the water but there are ways and means to not do that. Finally, someone will pay, so I’m of the view that I’d rather it was us than anyone else..
