Erling Haaland

Hindsight really, we could of signed Kane and raving about it now, or done the opposite possibly. Just got to accept the situation for what it is. I just hope the striker due is delivered according to our expectations, Haaland will be available, and a few others. We just have to get it right and get it done quick.

I wouldn't be sure it would get done quick. Pretty hopeful they will get it right though.

I kept drawing parallels to kompany-dias over the summer. The club knew he needed replaced. There was little out there the one summer, and rather than spending silly on Maguire or someone else not quire up to it, they sat on it a season. Now some will argue it cost is a title, but in fairness, the injuries we had that season and the wind liverool had in their sails and the var room, may well not have won it even with a new defender. Then the following summer, even with the knowledge that was our top priority, the club were happy to sit on it right till the end of the window to get who they wanted for a price they saw as worth it.

This summer was the same. We knew Sergio needed replaced. The chairman said he would be replaced. But the options werent there and the one that might have been was over the odds expensive. I wouldn't be surprised if they took it slow this summer too, with whoever it is they end up getting.

agree. City just need a poacher a killer in the box, someone with brilliant movement to get onto chances. The creative spark is there just missing the final piece.
If all city need is a poacher/killer in the box than is it worth it to spend the huge amount of money for halaand? I don't think so, we could go for someone cheaper

There aren’t many killers in the box with the right characteristics for our team. We need to get world class players while we still have Pep. After he’s gone, some players even with all the money in the world probably won’t come. Must take advantage of that if he’s really going to be gone at the end of next season. There’s never been a more obvious target. And if Pep leaves and we have a player of his stature around, carrying on the global brand, we will suffer much less

Signing Kane would of put Edison out of a job, he plays that deep.
Seriously he thinks he's some midfield maestro at the moment, when in reality he's just a blown up English press darling

Haaland isn't just goals with strength or even with the added blistering pace he has a good all round game, plays nice quick one two's brings teammates into play too there's more to him than the goals.

The Harry Kane fans on here go on about and stand by Kane's assists as a reason we should sign him but don't realise how creative Haaland is too, he has 15 assists in 37 games this calendar year so far is it a fluke? I think it's just him growing more as a player and they'll be plenty of improvement, even Mbappe only has 14 assists in 44 with nowhere near as many goals.

Haaland offers everything a target man does but good play on the deck too he's what we need up top his ceiling is crazy good, so underated at many aspects of his game i hope it happens and so should many of the doubters too perfect signing, we should do whatever it takes to get him he will be the best goalscorer in world football in the next decade bar someone else popping up out of nowhere.

I’m surprised there’s any doubt left in the footballing world about Haaland’s ability. There’s not a single player in the world I want to see in a blue shirt next season more than Erling Braut.

Don’t fuck it up, Txiki.

I think any 'doubt' is really just a bizarre obsession over some imaginary principle we could pretend to preserving, of anti huge wages he would supposedly demand and agent fees based on a couple of clickbait articles. I don't get it myself, this imaginary right and wrong way that is meant to be a deal breaker mental block many can't get over. Eventhough we regularly pay agent fees and huge wages.

That mentality is like finding the dream house but claiming to refuse to buy it because the estate agent is making an easy cut. Meanwhile having no issue paying half its value extra on top of it to the bank in interest.

I find it so strange. Particularly as so many have no issue seeing the club pay the same sums for a 28year old Kane.

If he gets this deal done I'd contemplate a Txiki tattoo

Maybe not

I disagree, city are a big club now especially to the younger generation, and still the best team in the epl which is still seen as the best league in the world. We don't need pep to draw players anymore, we already have a world class team I don't think halaand will add much to our global brand.
