Erling Haaland

Im sure there will be some creative ways around it, but just feels like the headline figure is going to have to be astronomical. Also i do wonder if they would sell Sancho and Haaland in the same summer? They aren't having the best of seasons so you wonder whether they cash in and then have vast sums to re invest. All i ask from City is they we go all in for him. Leave nothing to be questioned in our pursuit of him.

For a player like that I’m guessing the fee would probably be double next summer’s (2022) release clause, with competition from the kind of clubs who would be interested.

The way the transfer market works, a big chunk of what Dortmund receive for Sancho and Haaland would be eaten up by reinvestment. To avoid this, If we could throw in the likes of Braaf and Delap on loan that could be the type of deal that would appeal to them. I’m just not sure that either of those players are at the level of competing for a place in Dortmund’s first team.

So assuming we were in for him, who would realistically be competition?
From the papers it looks like us Chelsea and Utd. I think Barca and RM would have to sell before they bought and frankly the big players they have recently bought are probably only worth a half of the outlay. Chelsea have Werner, so not sure they need him just yet,but a new manager there is likely. Hopefully Utd buy Sancho and unlikely to buy two mega expensive players in the current climate. So he is ours !!! I wish.

I don't worry about Chelsea whatsoever. Unproven manager, more likely to be out of the UCL next season, a worse squad, a worse sporting project and zero connection to the player.

If Dortmund sell both Haaland and Sancho they will have some major money to play with

And I am sure their scouts will have the next generation of major players in the pipeline ready to sign

Dortmund have done fantastic in signing players and selling them on at profit whilst always being competitive

Dortmund don't strike me as a club that will be in a hurry to sell, especially with Sancho still in their possession. We can say covid this and covid that, but they have form for playing hardball. Like a poster said recently they could be perfectly content with getting another year out of him and then getting the release clause fee. The exception would be a Dembele-type offer and will any club offer that.
