No, I remember clearly. We made an initial offer and then more, including a final one before Kane pulled the plug. The thing is that in this forum, when a transfer the club wanted doesn’t happen, it’s always that we “dodged a bullet”, “were trying to get United to pay more”, “pulled out when a bidding war started”, or flat out pretending we didn’t bid or meant to bid (happened with the Lukaku story again...)... it’s never just that we tried and couldn’t pull it off.

Except we made no public bids. Just the usual twitter specubollox that some chose to believe and others didn't

I don’t believe his every word on transfers but even then I think he meant Levy wouldn’t negotiate and not that no offers were made. But frankly, I don’t even care because thinking about those weeks is not my idea of a good time. It got me blocked from his thread, which turned out to be a good thing. Let each one believe what they want. My point is that we were willing to go beyond the valuation for Kane, I 100% believe that. The same way I don’t think the club’s valuation of Grealish was 100M, that was the number necessary to get it done.

There was a possibility he could of joined this month a few months ago, but to keep all parties happy it has been mutually agreed for summer.
