I just dont see this one happening although I really hope Im wrong...

The reason I dont see it happening is the bidding war that will happen which i just dont see us being involved in, nor do I see us getting involved with Raiola and the media circus that surrounds him and his high priority clients (not all of them).

Other clubs (namely Chelsea, Utd, Madrid) have no problems getting involved with deals like this and getting themselves into bidding wars.

Ive no doubt he is potentially on our radar and that we may try but for the reasons mentioned above I just dont think it will happen.

Every club that can will be at the table for him

Utd desperately need a striker....cavani wont be retained.
Chelsea will offload any/all of their ones if needed and will use that money to throw at Haaland
Madrid have shown that they will pay whatever is necessary for their next "galactico"

In this bidding war who has the money to bid?

I agree with this. I also think this won't happen, unfortunately; Raiola, his greed and history of disrupting his players, being the main reason.

However, if we are interested, we'll probably wait til next year, as I believe he has a buy out clause that can be triggered in 2022.

Why would we wait a year when everyone could get involved? I think this year is the perfect one to go for it. Fewer clubs can afford to pay big money this year and we need an Aguero replacement

Haaland will only want to play for City and Pep. Why would he play for Peg or Olly? It won't just be about the money though. The main stumbling block will be his lunatic agent Raiola. City will have to find a way round this problem. I hope that Alfie Haaland is not so stupid as to allow Raiola to ruin his son's career. Personally I think £100m is cheap for Haaland and we should break the bank to get him. He would be a fitting replacement for Sergio.

For starters he has an existing relationship with Olly. Money is always a motivating factor esp with Raiola and the trouble he then causes when his clients are at the club are also a negative factor which our big bosses might want to involve. Alfie will do what is financially best. I agree with your price assessment and that he is a fitting replacement for Sergio. For me he is the best option out there

It's a bullshit story, obviously, we ain't offering 400k a week to a 20 y.o. player when Kevin doesn't get close to that. The author doesn't think much of his readers' intelligence.

We can’t afford to be that unambitious and meekly back down just because some other club dares to bid more. If it’s a player as good as Haaland that will ensure we continue to win trophies and generate sponsorship, etc then we absolutely must compete for his signature and win.

When it comes to replacing Aguero we simply must go for the very best. If we bottle it and let rag or Chelsea sign Haaland then it also sends a message to any future signings that maybe we’re not really that big time or intent on winning everything.

Get Haaland at any cost, we’d be set for another ten years just like we were with Kun.

Utd always have money...they sell well which is something we dont do as well
Madrid are propped up by the govt and again can sell
Chelsea are not shy of spending what's needed and also sell well
In this bidding war who has the money to bid?
